new bike

B loves her new bike.  We got her a new bike for Easter.  Her red bike is a bit heavy and difficult to get going, which was discouraging for a 3-year old.  At first, she was mostly thrilled about the water bottle that came with the bike - now she's into the bike, too.

little crafty birds

B has always admired jewelry.  She made her own necklace and bracelet.  I'm not a jewelry maker, so I don't know how well they will hold up - Maybe Grandpa can help refine our new craft.  They have lasted through the weekend, so that shows a little promise!
Yes- I let N play, too.  You can imagine the mess.
I'm sure I'll come across little beads for days to come...

still a little sick

We have been to the doctor twice this week for B.  First on Monday, bronchitis... first round of antibiotics.  Second trip to the doctor Thursday - bronchitis now worse, moved from the front of her chest to the back, and now an ear infection... second round of a different antibiotic and chest x-rays.
Both kids were troopers at her appointments - I am thankful.
She's a good patient.  She was a champ at the radiologist... waiting was tough, but we made it through.
And she clearly still has her sense of humor!
B's x-ray was clear, so we will just back next week for a follow-up on her ears.

little gardeners

Spring fever?  We planted our flower pots this weekend.
B has been eager to "grow a flower."
N was really into it, too.  He's our digger, so it wasn't a surprise.
It was fun and ended with a little rain for the plants.

Love

Sweet moments...

Spring photos

We decided to take advantage of the favorable weather
and beautiful flowers over the weekend...
Let's take a few family photos in the park.
We went early, to beat the crowds, so it was a little chilly, but worth it.
I must say... they turned out lovely.

Church

We made it to church on time and the kids enjoyed Sunday School.
Here they are after, playing in a "tree."
There are pretend trees all around the halls of the Sunday school area... lots of fun.

The Hunt

On to the Easter egg hunt...
Since it was raining, we held our hunt inside.
We hid and hunted about 4 times before heading off to church.

Easter Eggs

What's Easter without the eggs?
Well, since N is allergic to eggs, we opted to paint wooden eggs.
The kids had fun.  B could do this for hours.
N loved watching B paint.
It was a fun project to do while it rained outside.

Goofball and Funny Face

Just a couple cute photos of my goofballs...
We often call N "Goofball."
Here is N's proud smile after demonstrating how he can drink the milk from his cereal bowl.
B is demonstrating her "funny face" and the phonebook cover I made for her.
You know me, I can't just have an ugly phone book out - plus, with it's beauty, we're avoiding paper cuts!  Ouch!

Getting Better

Just a quick update for you all - B & N are feeling better.
They both have colds, but the fevers are gone and they seem to be feeling so much better.
It's nice to see the smiles again... asking to do more activities is always a good sign.
Here's to happy, healthy'ish kids!

Painting... paper, hand prints, and a birdhouse.

i carry your heart

My bliss... my babies.  Lately so grumpy, moody - they don't feel well and I miss my happy little side-kicks.
I want to go out and play - and they would love to as well.
We will get better and we will play.
Today I will be extra sweet to you and we will get better.
I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)

I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling.)

I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)

Let's Plant Something Good

Homebound - what are we going to do?
Small projects here and there... today we will plant.  B has been asking to plant flowers.
Since our freeze date isn't until next week, we will have to wait to plant our outside flowers.  Today we decided to give this a try.
Obviously I have not been a good keeper of this Amaryllis bulb.
It's been in our garage on a shelf for two years.  But instead of tossing it I did keep it, which says something, right?
We'll see how it goes.  I think it's typically a Christmas flower -
we're just hoping for anything at this point.
The kids liked putting it together.  We decided on rocks and water, instead of dirt.
Now they will enjoy watching it and talking about it's growth.
N enjoyed taking a photo of it, too (below).  Not bad for 20-months!
So, here's to indoor, low-key activities.  Ciao!

New P.J.'s -

B & N - the sick-o's... they've clocked a lot of time in their jammies the past few months.
Sometimes there isn't a lot we can do for them - lots of fluids, loves, snuggles, and yesterday - new P.J.'s!
It put a smile on their face.  I caved and went with Disney - Wall-E & Princess.
I'm not a fan, but I think B was born with this subconscious love for all things Disney.

Again...

The wave of illness is upon us!  N seems to kick it off for us each time and B is not far behind.
This time it's fevers.  At least Mom & Dad are healthy to take care and give lots of loves - and at least the kids can still sleep okay.
The fun never ends at our house!  Are you sure you don't want to visit?
You may have an opportunity to do a little immunity building!
