our little star

it was N's turn to be star of the week at preschool.  it wasn't as involved compared to when B was the star.  we made cookies and brought milk for their treat {per N's request} and i was his special guest to read his favorite book.  lucky me... it wasn't just any book, it was a song book, so i had the honor of singing the entire book to his whole class {and i'm not a singer mind you}... but there isn't anything i wouldn't do for my guy.
now we're off to the zoo today {for b's field trip and we are letting the star of the week skip school... shhh!}
enjoy the rest of your week!

N might be feeling a little better...

four

First up - B celebrated her birthday at her preschool last week.  She wanted to share pink, sparkle, star sugar cookies...

While B enjoyed her celebration, N got to go to the doctor again.

B had a fun time celebrating four years at preschool, N gets to do breathing treatments four times a day.

allergy appointment(s)

So many appointments, here and there.  We try to schedule N's during B's preschool,
however it doesn't always work out that way...
Allergy appointments tend to take hours.  I'm not kidding.
We have learned to pack many books and break out the portable DVD to play while I talk with the doctor.  The kids have done great.
What have we learned so far?  Well, NO NUTS, none... end of discussion.
No eggs (whites or yolks), which also means no flu shot... oh wait.  I thought I was being a good mom and I already got him the flu shot.  Oops...I must be *that mom.*  (He did not have a reaction, but next year we need to have him allergy tested for the shot before giving it to him... uh, good to know.)
No *rolling in the hay.*  This is a new one.  Grass.  No mowing the lawn, too!
What a great excuse he has when he is a teenager!
I am doing oral introductions with soybean, oats, and barley at home.  We are doing oral introductions of almond and sunflower seed in the doctor's office.  I hope they all go well, so we can have barley soup on cold winter nights and almond butter sandwiches on picnics.
How do I keep this straight?  I have no idea.

N our MVP

N had his surgery on Friday and came through like a champ.  We are so grateful everything went so good.
After surgery, I went back to recovery to wait for him to wake up.
I said a *thank you* when he woke and sat up for Mommy.
After a bit in the main recovery room we went to our private, family recovery room to let him wake up more and so we could be with Daddy and B.  No crying, just a little sleepy.
B was such a loving big sister.  She was so sweet with him.
He requested his hat in the car and a strawberry milkshake.
When we got home, he seemed like he was back to his happy self.
Here's to life's blessings.  Happy Monday.

clear liquids

N must be on a clear liquid diet... all day.  Hmmm.... we will see how this goes.
You are not invited unless you want a popsicle for dinner.
(P.S. - this famous water is straight from my friend, Karin, owner of OSMOSIS Mint Water... drink it! {wink})

N - the allergy boy

More allergy testing...
N had allergy testing yesterday.  It will be good to confirm.
Dealing with 9+ allergies has been challenging, but N is a trooper!

Goofball and Funny Face

Just a couple cute photos of my goofballs...
We often call N "Goofball."
Here is N's proud smile after demonstrating how he can drink the milk from his cereal bowl.
B is demonstrating her "funny face" and the phonebook cover I made for her.
You know me, I can't just have an ugly phone book out - plus, with it's beauty, we're avoiding paper cuts!  Ouch!

Luck of the Irish?

Not so lucky this year... B has been sick the past few days, so we didn't celebrate St. Patrick's Day to the fullest.  We usually go to the nursery to look at the new plants and flowers and we had planned to take them to Bounce U in the morning - change of plans.  Maybe in the next few weeks...

N is a goofball!  He is playing with B's barf bucket... yes, we washed it out before he put it on his head... gross!

You can tell he is feeling better - many more smiles for Mom and Dad.

The weather has been beautiful, so he has been enjoying his play time outside.

He really is our funny guy... here he is talking on his pudding cup to Nanny & Papa!
