happy easter

spring is here and the weather this weekend was really nice, nearly 80.
we were invited to a farm by another TU family for an egg hunt, lunch, and to see new chicks.
B even won a hula hoop.
you know N just loved the chicks more than anything.
B thought they were pretty cool, too.  they all were different colors.
we played in the fields... mommy and daddy both got ticks.  fun.
we got a little goofy, too.
easter sunday was spent constructing a play deck {of course, involves multiple trips to the hardware store}.
who doesn't want to hunt eggs twice?
then two other families joined us at our house for another egg hunt, cracking eggs over each others' heads and dinner.
we are blessed to have our TU family here.
all the kids had another great day together.
we are all here, far from family.  so, we are banning together and created our own family here.

Let's Plant Something Good

Homebound - what are we going to do?
Small projects here and there... today we will plant.  B has been asking to plant flowers.
Since our freeze date isn't until next week, we will have to wait to plant our outside flowers.  Today we decided to give this a try.
Obviously I have not been a good keeper of this Amaryllis bulb.
It's been in our garage on a shelf for two years.  But instead of tossing it I did keep it, which says something, right?
We'll see how it goes.  I think it's typically a Christmas flower -
we're just hoping for anything at this point.
The kids liked putting it together.  We decided on rocks and water, instead of dirt.
Now they will enjoy watching it and talking about it's growth.
N enjoyed taking a photo of it, too (below).  Not bad for 20-months!
So, here's to indoor, low-key activities.  Ciao!

Spring is on the way!

Lots of playing...

B and N decided they should have their snack
on the kitchen floor.
N doesn't look so happy, right?!  Right.  N has been "under the weather" since October - off and on with colds, the flu, croup, RSV, and allergies.  Sometimes there is just not a lot we can do, so after a long day Daddy tried the wheelbarrow.  He may not look like it, but he did like it and I appreciated the effort.  N loves being outside and a ride in something new was perfect.  Sometimes time with Dad is just what a little guy needs.
N loves picking the berries off our "monkey grass."  This day he really got into it - laying in the garden, getting down and dirty with his work.
Don't be jealous... but the weather has been nice and B needed to catch a few rays.
Yesterday N picked me a flower - what a sweet boy... it's actually a weed, so either way it was a nice gesture!
B is into jumping rope!
N's favorite place to hang out... between Mommy's legs.
